I am a PhD candidate at the NYU Department of Philosophy. I work on the history of modern philosophy, especially on themes of value, sociality, emotion, and the self.
My dissertation is on Adam Smith's conception of the rationality of emotions and its connection to the perspective of others. My advisors are Don Garrett, Anja Jauernig, and Sharon Street.
I'm originally from Copenhagen, Denmark. Like some other Scandinavians, I have a double first name ("Carl Christian"), but I also go by "Carl".
